How to buy token on Uniswap
The Uniswap Protocol is an open-source protocol for providing liquidity and trading ERC20 tokens on Ethereum. It eliminates trusted intermediaries and unnecessary forms of rent extraction, allowing for safe, accessible, and efficient exchange activity.
Step 1: Set up your MetaMask wallet
Download and create a wallet that interacts with smart contracts. We recommend MetaMask as a Wallet, that’s why all along the tutorial we will use it but there are other.
If you already have a wallet created, you can proceed to the next step, if not you must create one.

Step 2: Buy some Ethereum
Buy some Ethereum in your favorite exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kucoin, etc…) and send the $ETH to this address that you will have retrieved from your wallet.
In your exchange, find the Withdraw option. Select Ethereum. They ask where do you want to send, paste there the Metamask address.
Step 3: Buy on Uniswap
- Go to Uniswap.
- Connect your wallet by clicking Connect Wallet (you will have the choice between many wallet but we chose MetaMask for the tutoring)
3. Choose ETH up and click Select a token down.
4. Search the token you want to buy. Eg: $SHIB (you can also put the contract address if you can’t find a token or to be sure you bought the right one)
5. Select the amount of $ETH you want to spend and you will see the amount of token you will receive. Eg: 0.0072 $ETH → 772598$SHIB.
6. Click on Swap
7. A window with more details will appear. Check the details are correct. Confirm. Then wait until the transaction is completed! Be patient, sometimes it takes a few minutes.
